Free-Kick Units

Set Pieces & Restarts · U14–U19

Obj: The free-kick department founded — takers, walls, deliveries, and drops: direct and indirect free kicks as rehearsed products (2.10's free-kick law both ways). Field: Attacking half dead-ball spots, goal + GK. Equip: Goal, balls, mannequin wall, bibs. Org: ATTACKING: taker pool development (G-26's lab graduates audition — the earned list, tracked conversion in training logged, 2.10's data rule); wide free kicks run as corner-routine variants (H-02's zones from new angles); central kicks: strike vs. slide-pass vs. the disguised pull-back (three options so walls can't pre-commit). DEFENDING: wall protocol (GK owns numbers and set — I-18; tallest inside, no jumpers turning), the drop-line rehearsed (where the line holds vs. the pump-in — E-19's discipline at dead balls), and the charge-down rules. CP: (1) The list is data, not seniority (training conversion decides — post it); (2) walls are GK-built: his goal, his math, his call; (3) quick restarts ALWAYS live (H-09's law — the best free kick is often the fastest). Prog: Live walls and GKs; scenario framing (score/minute contexts choosing strike vs. delivery). Reg: Mannequin walls; taker rotation open to all early (auditions before the list narrows). Mist: P: everyone believing they're a taker (the log settles it kindly); C: defending walls assembled slower than referees allow (speed drilled — real whistle pacing). Time: 14 min biweekly. Out: A data-earned taker list; wall protocol automatic; wide-kick routines converting. Var: U16+ wall-lier decisions (vs. under-the-wall specialists — scout-driven). Diag: Central kick with three option arrows (strike/slide/pull-back) vs. a GK-organized wall with drop-line marked; wide-kick panel running an H-02 zone routine.

The 3-point rule: pick your three coaching points before the session and be ready to answer for them (Manual 5.4).
