Chance-Quality Classroom

Finishing & Final Third · U15–U19

Obj: Shot selection as literacy — the xG intuition built: which chances are gold, which are donations, and how the box's geography prices every strike (2.7.3's discipline given its evidence base). Field: Classroom/board 10 min + box work 15 min. Equip: Board with shot-map zones, film clips, goal, balls, cones, bibs. Org: CLASSROOM: the box's price map drawn together (the six and central box = gold; second-six = silver with conditions, G-18; wide angles = bronze, G-25's refusal logic; 30-yard hope = donations) — then the players' OWN shot maps from the season's data (8.7's chance-quality proxy) laid over it: "where do YOU shoot from, and what does that cost us?" (the personal audit lands harder than any lecture). GRASS: live 7v6 final-third games scored BY the map (gold goals 3, silver 2, bronze 1, donations minus 1) — selection practiced with the prices visible. CP: (1) The extra pass to gold beats the shot from silver — MOST times, not all (the map has exceptions, G-18's conditions; literacy means knowing both); (2) your shot map is a habit's photograph — habits retrain (G-12's floor logic applied to selection); (3) refusals that become gold = the session's celebrated play (G-25's stat, elevated). Prog: Defense punishes donations with instant counters (the cost embodied); game-state pricing (chasing late = silver rises in value — 2.12's context bends the map). Reg: Three zones only; classroom shortened. Mist: P: literacy becoming timidity (the map licenses gold AGGRESSION — shoot MORE from gold, that's half the lesson); C: xG jargon without the personal maps (abstraction bounces; "your 14 shots from bronze" lands). Time: 25 min total (biweekly U15+, feeding 8.7's tracked metric). Out: Shot maps shifting goldward across the season (the metric proves it); selection vocabulary in the players' mouths at film sessions. Var: Keeper's classroom twin (GKs learn the same map from I-05's angle side — where shots COME from prices positioning). Diag: Box with priced zones shaded (gold/silver/bronze/minus), a player's dot-map overlaid, one arrow showing an extra pass from silver to gold, game-state inset re-pricing the map at minute 88.

The 3-point rule: pick your three coaching points before the session and be ready to answer for them (Manual 5.4).
