Laces Academy

Finishing & Final Third · U8–U10

Obj: Striking technique as joy — the laces strike founded: contact, balance, and the love of hitting a ball hard. Field: 20×15yd to pug goals/big-goal sections. Equip: Balls (many), goals, cones. Org: Stations of pure striking volume: stationary ball → rolling ball (toward, then across) → self-served bounce. Every child strikes 60+ balls; retrieval games keep the fetching fun (partner alternates). Goals celebrated ALL, misses celebrated for contact quality ("that SOUND!"). CP: (1) Ankle locked, toe down, strike the middle with the laces' bone; (2) plant foot beside the ball, pointing at the target; (3) land on the striking foot (follow through the ball, not around it). Prog: Across-body rolls (hardest angle); weak-foot rounds early and often. Reg: Bigger goals, closer range, coach-placed balls. Mist: P: toe-poking under excitement; C: technique-lecturing between every rep (one cue per round, then let them hit). Time: 15 min. Out: Clean laces contact both feet; striking identified with joy. Var: Sound-test rounds (eyes-closed coach judges contact by noise — kids adore it). Diag: Three stations left to right with strike arrows, plant-foot icon, follow-through arc.

The 3-point rule: pick your three coaching points before the session and be ready to answer for them (Manual 5.4).
