Scout-Mirror Defense Day

Pressing & Defending · U15–U19

Obj: The full defensive game-plan rehearsal — Saturday's opponent's ATTACK replicated by our second unit, our defensive plan (press scheme, block triggers, traps, set-piece marks) rehearsed against it (D-23's defensive twin; 8.6's output made flesh). Field: Full half to full field. Equip: Goals, cones, balls, bibs, scout sheets. Org: The mirror unit studies the scout card's attacking sections: their build shape, their favorite entries (halfspace 10? direct 9? overlapping left back?), their dangermen's habits (replicators ASSIGNED to impersonate specific players — "you're their #10: left foot, drifts wide, shoots early"), their set-piece routines. Our first unit then rehearses the plan's defensive layers in sequence: the press scheme chosen for THIS build (15 min), the block's triggers vs. THEIR patience (10 min), the named-trap (E-12's Door 2 on their weak builder), and set-piece marks vs. their routines (H-03/H-12 slots). What fails gets adjusted live — the match plan's defensive three adjustments (8.3) finalized from evidence. Units swap next cycle (mirror work is scouting education, graded per 8.6). CP: (1) Defend the opponent that EXISTS: generic defending vs. specific attacking loses specifically; (2) impersonators commit to the role (the #10 who won't drift wide trains nothing — mirror honesty graded); (3) the plan bends before the model breaks: if the rehearsal exposes the plan, change the PLAN Thursday, not the principles Saturday (2.12). Prog: Their known adjustments layered ("when their 10 is screened, they go direct to the 9 — rehearse phase two"); game-state versions of their attack (chasing vs. protecting). Reg: Mirror simplified to their two loudest patterns. Mist: P: first-unit coasting because "it's only the mirror" (Saturday's intensity is rehearsed or absent — E-30 IS the match); C: over-fitting the whole week to one opponent (this is ONE day; the model owns the other days, 12.4's fidelity). Time: 30–35 min (Thursday in-season). Out: Saturday's defensive problems pre-solved; three adjustments evidence-based; both units' scout literacy compounding. Var: Post-match accuracy review (was the mirror right? — the scouting feedback loop, 8.5). Diag: Full half with the opponent's attack shape drawn (their numbers labeled), impersonated #10 drifting wide with his habit-notes, our press scheme's counter-arrows, trap on their weak builder, match-plan clipboard receiving the three adjustments.

The 3-point rule: pick your three coaching points before the session and be ready to answer for them (Manual 5.4).
