Emergency Defending

Pressing & Defending · U13–U19

Obj: Box scrambles, blocks, and last-ditch technique — the ugly saves of outfield play, trained so desperation has craft. Field: Penalty area + edge. Equip: Goal, balls, bibs, mannequins. Org: Chaos stations rotating: (1) BLOCKS (defender closes a shooter, blocking technique: front-on, hands back, take it anywhere — courage with self-protection taught); (2) LINE CLEARANCES (attacker rounds the GK or the GK's beaten — covering defender's goal-line decisions: clear anywhere, concede corners happily); (3) SCRAMBLES (coach throws chaos balls into a crowded six-yard box — first contact wins, "NO second touches in the six" as the law); (4) DOUBLE-DANGER (2v2 box defending where the cross arrives mid-duel — mark AND ball-watch balanced, E-15's exam). All scored; all celebrated loudly (the culture point: our model loves the ball, AND our badge loves a body on the line — both are Soda City, 1.4's relentless trait). CP: (1) Blocks: close fast, set wide, take the hit — flinching is the only failure; (2) emergency clearances have no style points: anywhere out, corner conceded = victory; (3) after the chaos: RESET in two seconds (scramble, clear, breathe, organize — chaos ends when we say). Prog: Numbers down (defend 2v3 scrambles); GK integrated (who claims vs. who clears — the call is his, I-15). Reg: Slower service; mannequin attackers. Mist: P: trying to PLAY out of the six-yard scramble (the one zone where the build waits); C: never training this because we're a "footballing side" (matches don't care — 20 emergency moments per season demand 20 minutes per month). Time: 16 min monthly. Out: Block courage, line clearances, scramble first-contacts; the ugly moments owned. Var: Set-piece chaos version (H-13's second phases feed the same skills). Diag: Penalty box with block stance closing a shooter, goal-line clearance arrow, scramble crowd at the six with first-contact star, reset-organize arrows after.

The 3-point rule: pick your three coaching points before the session and be ready to answer for them (Manual 5.4).
