Obj: Ground and aerial duels as celebration — the session that makes contact competence and competitive fire explicit curriculum (7.4 strength strand's expression, 7.5's competitive mentality). Field: Stations across 40×30yd. Equip: Cones, balls, bibs, soft balls for young aerial work. Org: Four stations, 5 min each, all scored, all refereed honestly (the legal-contact standard taught by consistent whistles): (1) shoulder-to-shoulder channel races (A-36's core); (2) front-block tackle technique (the safe toe-poke block vs. the studs-up ban — taught explicitly); (3) aerial duels (guideline-compliant by age: U11–12 soft balls and technique only, U13+ contested with rep caps per 4.x); (4) loose-ball 50/50s (arrival angle, body wedge, foot protection). Duel Day runs monthly; standings feed the duel-win-rate metric (8.7). CP: (1) Legal contact is a skill with edges — learn the edges by feeling them under a fair whistle; (2) win the POSITION before the ball arrives (duels are decided early); (3) lose a duel, win the next second — the response is graded too (7.5's resilience made physical). Prog: Position-specific duels (CB vs. 9 aerials, fullback vs. winger shoulders); fatigue-state duels (station 4 after station 1). Reg: Technique-only rounds; size-banded pairings (bio-banding, always available). Mist: P: recklessness masquerading as bravery (the whistle teaches); C: letting Duel Day become the tough kids' festival (pairings engineered so everyone wins some — confidence is the product). Time: 22 min monthly. Out: Duel technique + appetite across the roster; contact confidence bankable by matches. Var: GK-inclusive claiming duels (I-07 under contest). Diag: Four station zones: channel race arrows, block-tackle stance, aerial contest with jump arrows, 50/50 arrival angles.
