Obj: Flat-line stepping with GK sweep cover — the offside line as a managed weapon: alignment, timing, and the keeper's insurance behind it. Field: 40×35yd with a full goal. Equip: Goal, cones, balls, bibs, flags for AR-simulation (a parent or resting player runs the line — genuinely useful and fun). Org: Back four + GK vs. 5 attackers who hunt runs in behind. The line drills: alignment (flat at every moment — the deepest defender sets it, called constantly), the step (on back-passes and pressure, together, catching timed runs), the recovery (when the step fails — turn and sprint, GK sweeping, I-06/I-12 live). The volunteer AR flags offsides; catches = 2 pts for the line; clean through-balls behind = attackers' 2; GK sweeps = 1 (insurance working). CP: (1) Flat means FLAT: one dropped shoulder plays everyone onside; (2) step on the trigger, not on hope — a mistimed step is a jailbreak; (3) the GK's depth mirrors the line's height: high line, high keeper (the partnership is one system). Prog: Attackers add third-man runs (harder tracking); trap-steps on a secret signal (U15+ sparingly). Reg: Three-defender line; attackers' runs called aloud. Mist: P: the fullback sagging deep "to be safe" (he IS the offside line's hole — the AR's flags teach); C: training the line without the GK (half a system). Time: 15 min. Out: Flat-line discipline with catches as trophies; GK-line partnership. Var: Match-film pairing (review our line's height moments from Saturday — 8.5's clips). Diag: Flat back four with alignment line drawn, step arrows on the trigger moment catching a runner beyond, GK's sweep-cover zone shaded behind, AR flag raised.
