Obj: Outnumbered defending — 1v2 and 2v3 survival: buying seconds with angles and patience until help arrives. Field: 25×18yd to a gate/goal; "help" waiting behind a start line. Equip: Cones, balls, bibs. Org: 1v2 (then 2v3): defenders outnumbered, attackers score through the gate. The defender's win condition is TIME — survive 8 seconds (counted aloud) and the "help" defender is released, evening the numbers. Delay tools taught: back-pedal angles, showing wide, feinted engagements that slow the carrier without committing, protecting the middle above all. CP: (1) Outnumbered = never dive in: your tackle attempt is their green light; (2) angle to make the field small — show the touchline, hide the middle (2.3.3); (3) backward steps are forward thinking: give ground, never the goal. Prog: 2v3 with communication between defenders (who delays, who covers); help-release time grows. Reg: 1v2 in a narrow channel (geometry helps); 6-second target. Mist: P: heroic lunges at second two; C: framing delay as passive (it's the bravest defending — the count-aloud makes its success audible and celebrated). Time: 14 min. Out: Delay valued and skilled; help-arrival rescues as the visible payoff. Var: Match-transition framing: the delayers are the rest-defense pair vs. a 3v2 counter (F-07's picture). Diag: 1v2 with defender's angled retreat arrows, shown-wide steering, hidden central lane shaded, help defender sprinting from the release line at "8."
