Obj: The defending foundation: approach speed, angle, patience, and tackle timing taught like passing is. Field: 12×10yd channels. Equip: Cones, balls, bibs, small gates as "goals." Org: Attacker receives from the defender's serve (engagement built in); defender closes and defends the gate behind him. Rotating emphasis rounds: Round 1 approach only (sprint-then-slow graded, no tackles); Round 2 angle (show one side consistently); Round 3 patience (survive 6 seconds); Round 4 full duels. CP: (1) Fly in, land soft — fast approach, braking steps at two yards; (2) sideways-on, knees bent, weight ready to turn; (3) tackle when the touch is heavy, not when you're impatient. Prog: Attacker quality up (best 1v1 players); recovery-start version. Reg: Walking attacker; grabbing-bib "tackles." Mist: P: square hips, lunging; C: teaching defending only as effort — it's technique with a syllabus. Time: 15 min. Out: The four-part sequence visible in every duel. Var: Champions-court ladder with defending-only scoring (A-17 inverted). Diag: Channel with serve arrow, curved approach with brake marks, sideways stance icon, protected gate.
