Obj: Long-pattern second-ball structures — the organized violence around the hatch's landing zone: anticipation, first contact, and the two seconds after. Field: Middle third, 40×30yd around a marked target zone. Equip: Cones, balls, bibs, serving station. Org: Two "armies" of 4 contest served long balls into the zone where a target striker (alternating teams) flicks, sets, or misses entirely (all three outcomes are the training). The armies pre-position by our law — one UNDER the target, one OVER, two on the ball's likely deflection arcs — then war for the second ball. Winning it = 1 pt; winning it AND completing a forward pass within two touches = 3 (the second ball is a beginning, not an end — D-06's rule enforced by economy). Serves vary: driven, high, awkward (match honesty). CP: (1) Position by probability: flicks travel beyond, cushions drop under, misses skid through — read the target's body BEFORE contact and shade accordingly; (2) first contact doesn't need to be pretty — a poke to a teammate beats a clean touch to nobody (second-ball technique is its own technique, F-16's cousin); (3) the two-touch forward window: the enemy army is disorganized for exactly one breath — use it. Prog: Armies of 5 with a designated counter-outlet each; serves from real GK distributions (I-09 merge); the D-06 pattern's full context restored around it. Reg: Predictable serves; armies of 3 with more space. Mist: P: everyone attacking the ball's first landing (the arcs need soldiers — positional discipline in chaos is the curriculum); C: training clean-possession teams to disdain this (Saturday has weather, referees, and 6'2" opponents — the army is model-compliant realism, 2.2.4). Time: 15 min. Out: Second-ball win rates tracked and climbing; chaos organized; the hatch's full machinery complete. Var: Defensive version — the armies defend AGAINST an opponent's long game (E-29's aerial-duel merge). Diag: Target zone with striker at center, two armies positioned under/over/on-arcs, serve trajectory in, three outcome arrows (flick beyond, cushion under, skid through) with soldiers shaded at each.
