3-2-3 Exit Routes

Build-Out & Progression · U11–U12

Obj: The 9v9 build patterns catalog — rehearsed exits from goal kicks in our shape. Field: 9v9 half field. Equip: Goal, cones, balls, bibs. Org: Full 9 (GK+3-2-3) vs. 5 pressers. Three named routes rehearsed then played live: Route 1 "Wide" (back wide → winger drops → pivot underneath); Route 2 "Middle" (bait wide, GK re-set, split pass to far pivot); Route 3 "Long-with-love" (the designed clip to the striker's chest zone with both pivots anticipating the second ball). Rounds rotate the starting route; defense doesn't know which. Exits over halfway = 1 pt; Route-3 second-ball wins = 2. CP: (1) Routes are starting points, not scripts — when the press breaks the route, find the free man (the route created him somewhere); (2) GK is in every route — say his name; (3) Route 3 is a choice, never a panic. Prog: 6 pressers; defense told the route (disguise test). Reg: 3 pressers; walk-throughs each route. Mist: P: robotic route-running past open options; C: hiding Route 3 out of possession pride (2.2.4 — the long pattern is model-compliant). Time: 18 min. Out: Three exits fluent; route-to-freedom thinking. Var: Player-designed Route 4 (they invent, coach edits, team runs it — ownership). Diag: 9v9 build shape with three colored route arrows from goal kick.

The 3-point rule: pick your three coaching points before the session and be ready to answer for them (Manual 5.4).
