Rondo Decathlon

Passing, Receiving & Rondos · U11–U19

Obj: The evaluation-day gauntlet: ten rondo/passing stations testing the whole category — data harvested for quarterly rubrics (7.7's technical battery). Field: Full half-field, ten stations. Equip: Everything; score sheets/app. Org: Groups rotate ten 4-minute stations: (1) 4v1 splits count; (2) 5v2 third-man releases; (3) scan-count reception score (B-09 protocol); (4) one-touch kingdom streak; (5) long-range ladder rung reached; (6) weight-lab station 3 read-success; (7) switch-completion into boxes; (8) silent-rondo survival; (9) back-foot reception percentage under a marker; (10) disguise votes won. Standard scoring sheets; personal bests tracked against last quarter — the delta is the headline, never the ranking (below U15). CP: Stations run themselves; coaches observe and record — the discipline is not coaching during assessment (clean data requires it; say so to the players, they respect labs). Prog/Reg: Station specs scale by age band per the benchmarks (Sections 3–4). Mist: C: turning testing day into a grind — music, energy, and the lab-day framing keep it an event kids anticipate; P: sandbagging stations they dislike (buddies verify, A-37 culture). Time: 45–50 min (quarterly, Weeks 9/18/35/42). Out: Ten clean data points per player per quarter feeding IDPs and the evaluation platform; the category's whole curriculum audited in one morning. Var: Coach-vs-player exhibition station (relationship equity — they never forget beating you at rondo). Diag: Half-field map with ten numbered station zones and a rotation loop.

The 3-point rule: pick your three coaching points before the session and be ready to answer for them (Manual 5.4).
