Give-Go-Gone

Passing, Receiving & Rondos · U10–U13

Obj: The 1-2 into space exploitation — wall passes that attack the space behind, not just around, a defender (B-06's graduation). Field: 25×20yd to an end zone; defender line marked. Equip: Cones, balls, bibs. Org: Attacker + wall vs. one live defender guarding a line. Give (into the wall) — Go (sprint past the defender's blind shoulder) — Gone (receive behind, drive into the end zone). The defender may jump the wall pass or track the run, never both: the pair reads him — if he jumps, the wall keeps and carries; if he tracks, the return goes. 2v1 decisions disguised as a pattern. CP: (1) The Give commits him — pass firm as you arrive at his pressing radius; (2) the Go bends behind his back shoulder (blind side always); (3) read his hips: jumping = keep, tracking = release ("hips tell the truth"). Prog: Second defender covering (2v2 — combination vs. switch of plan); finish on goal + GK; both-side reps. Reg: Passive defender alternating his choice predictably; walk-throughs. Mist: P: running the pattern regardless of the read (this is a reading session in pattern costume); C: praising completed 1-2s that the defender's jump had made wrong. Time: 14 min. Out: Read-based 1-2s; blind-shoulder runs habitual. Var: Third attacker as alternate wall (choose the better wall side). Diag: Channel with defender at a line, give-arrow to wall, go-run curving behind the defender's shoulder, return into space, keep-option arrow contrasted.

The 3-point rule: pick your three coaching points before the session and be ready to answer for them (Manual 5.4).
