Passing Golf

Passing, Receiving & Rondos · U8–U12

Obj: Touch-weight mastery through play — every "hole" is a weight problem; doubles as the homework card's family game. Field: Any 40×30yd+ space; 9 "holes" (hoops, cone circles, small gates at varied distances/angles). Equip: Ball each, hoops/cones, scorecards. Org: Players (pairs U8–U9) play the course: each hole requires the ball stopped inside the target zone; count strokes (passes/touches). Par set per hole. Long holes need driven "drives" then soft "putts" — range and touch in one game. Hazards: cones that add a stroke if hit. CP: (1) Read the distance, choose the club — laces drive vs. inside putt; (2) the putt's weight: dying into the zone beats racing through it; (3) plan the two-shot route on long holes (course management = decision-making). Prog: Weak-foot-only holes; wind days embraced (adjust aim — real learning); match-play brackets. Reg: Shorter course; par raised. Mist: P: driving everything (watch the scorecard teach); C: over-instructing a game that self-teaches — set the course, play in it yourself (relationship gold). Time: 15 min (or full family-night event). Out: Weight control across ranges; scorecards home as the week's homework anchor. Var: Team scramble format; "major championship" each season's end with a trophy hole. Diag: Course map with numbered holes, varied distances, hazard cones, one two-shot route dashed.

The 3-point rule: pick your three coaching points before the session and be ready to answer for them (Manual 5.4).
