Obj: The unopposed pattern school for the third-man principle — vocabulary reps before B-31's live exam. Field: 25×20yd, mannequin line, target beyond. Equip: Mannequins, cones, balls. Org: The Y run continuously from both sides: A (stem) into C (junction, between mannequins), C sets or slides for B arriving beyond. Waves of three rotate A→C→B→queue. Tempo builds weekly: walk → jog → match-speed → match-speed with a 5s shot-clock. Every fourth wave, C turns instead (pattern-breaking rep so the set never becomes mindless). CP: (1) B leaves as the first pass travels; (2) C's choice — set (defender tight) vs. slide/turn (defender off) — announced aloud in pattern phase; (3) disguise at A: look at B, play C. Prog: Passive defender on C → B-31 (the live flagship). Reg: Coach walks the triangle with narration; cones replace mannequins. Mist: P: robotic reps without the announced choice (the talking keeps brains on); C: running patterns all session — 10 minutes max, then live. Time: 10 min (precedes B-31 or C-09). Out: Pattern executed at speed both sides; language automatic ("set!" "turn!"). Var: Double-Y (two junctions, C and D chain); GK-start version (A = keeper, D-09 bridge). Diag: Y shape: A at stem, C at junction between mannequins, B beyond; numbered arrows 1–2 with B's timed run curve.
