Disguise Academy

Passing, Receiving & Rondos · U12–U19

Obj: Look-offs, no-looks, and body-lie passing — deception as a passing tool (feint physics for the passing foot). Field: 15×15yd. Equip: Cones, balls, bibs. Org: Block 1 (technique): trios in a triangle, passer must "show" one teammate with eyes/hips then play the other — receiver shouts "sold!" if genuinely deceived (peer feedback loop). Block 2 (live): 4v2 rondo where a completed disguised split or third-man pass scores triple (defenders vote on whether they were deceived — surprisingly honest, always loud). CP: (1) The lie needs an audience — make eye contact with the decoy; (2) hips lie best: open toward the decoy, strike across the body to the target; (3) disguise the weight too — soft-looking posture, firm pass. Prog: One-touch disguises (elite); disguised switches in B-11. Reg: Exaggerated theatrical reps first (fun unlocks it); slow tempo. Mist: P: disguising every pass (predictable unpredictability — coach the ratio); C: skipping the peer-vote (the feedback IS the session). Time: 12 min. Out: Deception attempts in live play; defenders' votes trending "sold." Var: "Oscar round" — best disguise of the day re-enacted and named. Diag: Triangle with eye-line arrow to decoy, pass arrow to true target diverging, hip-orientation icon.

The 3-point rule: pick your three coaching points before the session and be ready to answer for them (Manual 5.4).
