Wall-Pass World

Passing, Receiving & Rondos · U10–U12

Obj: The 1-2 combination installed: when to wall, how to weight the return, the run beyond. Field: 20×15yd channels to a finish line/pug goal. Equip: Cones, balls, mannequin per channel, bibs. Org: Attacker dribbles at the mannequin ("defender"), plays the wall player posted beside it, sprints past, receives the return in stride, finishes over the line/in goal. Both feet, both sides. Round 3: mannequin becomes a live delayed defender; round 4: wall may fake the return and slip a through-ball instead (decision layer). CP: (1) Pass firm to the wall's far foot as you commit the defender; (2) sprint past on the opposite shoulder immediately — the run sells the wall; (3) wall returns first-time into the runner's path, weighted to be met at speed. Prog: Live defender; second defender covering (wall vs. keep decision); finish with GK. Reg: Walking pattern; coach as wall. Mist: P: passing then watching (no run = no 1-2); C: ignoring the wall player's craft — the return is the harder skill. Time: 14 min. Out: 15+ full-speed 1-2s each; both roles competent. Var: Double wall (1-2-1-2 chains); U12 version into A-31 grids. Diag: Channel with mannequin, wall player beside, pass-run-return triangle arrows, finish gate.

The 3-point rule: pick your three coaching points before the session and be ready to answer for them (Manual 5.4).
