Objectives: Master two named 1v1 moves (this cycle: the scissors and the pull-push) at game speed; build courage as habit.
Field: 20×15yd channel per 4 players, small goal each end. Equipment: cones, pug goals, balls at both ends.
Organization: 1v1 flying changes: attacker attacks the goal; on loss/score, next pair enters instantly. Coach names which move must be attempted (not necessarily succeed) for a goal to count double.
Coaching points: (1) Sell the fake with the whole body, not the foot; (2) explode on the second touch after the move; (3) attack the defender's front foot.
Progressions: Defender starts closer → attacker must use weak foot after the move → 2v2 with the move still bonus-scored.
Regressions: Move vs. cone first, then passive defender walking backward.
Common mistakes: Players: performing the move too far from the defender (no one to beat); slowing down after the move. Coaches: punishing failed attempts — attempts are the point; grading success kills courage.
Timing: 15 min. Expected outcomes: Every player attempts the named move ≥6 times; visible speed-up of move execution.
Variations: "Champions' court" ladder rotation · parents' night version (kids teach the move to a parent — homework anchor).
